Fish sauce alternative

Fish sauce adds a delicious round salty flavour to Oriental dishes, especially in Thai and Vietnamese.

You should be able to find fish sauce in most supermarkets. If however you do not have it to hand, a couple of pinches of salt will help achieve the salty flavour (though you need to carefully adjust this by constantly tasting as you add the salt).

Alternatively, leave the fish sauce from the recipe and proceed as normal.
